Last Night

Last Night

Last night I thought about things
About all I am
And all I can be
Why am I just sitting here
When I can hear other's screams
They are buried alive
Just like I was not so long ago
So the question becomes thus
Will I help them?
Can I change my ways?
I belive I must.
I have to do good, redemption awaits
For all of the horrible things I have done and said.
Will someone lead me now so I can lead them?
Help me up so I can give others a hand.
Grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change
The courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference.
This was my prayer
So it will stay in my heart,
Edging me on,
Keeping me strong.
I have made my choice as I stare at the stars.
I will be a person worth knowing.
I will be a person worth helping
I will be a person worth loving.
Last night, I made my choice.
I will stand up.
